About Kinship & Company
The mission of Kinship & Company is to support communities and nurture relationships through thoughtfully managed weddings and events, and to serve people and their families through times of transition in their lives.
It's been a bit of a journey to find my calling - but my past experiences - which include everything from doing backcountry field botany to working as an assistant pastry chef - have all led me to where I am today.
In each of my jobs, I always seemed to find my way into planning the parties and events, and would cook for family and friends at a moments notice. In 2010, I started selling noodle bowls at a Farmers' Market in Montana, later moved the business to Ithaca, NY, started to cater and get into event planning and subsequently found my way into weddings. Having cooked and catered for the past eight years, and coordinated and planned weddings and events for the past four years, I'm gearing up to expand the business and will soon be adding doula services in order to offer support to new parents and their families.
It has been almost 9 years since starting the business, and each year it continues to grow towards my vision of providing full life-cycle support to individuals, couples and communities.
My mission is to create a place where people can return to throughout their lives to receive attentive and compassionate support while they are in times of transition.
Kinship and Company is the place where you can find wedding coordination services, and a few years later you can return here seeking postpartum and new family support when you and your partner give birth to your first child, or adopt twins. It is also the place you can reach out to when you are planning a memorial service and need someone to manage the last-minute logistics.
I love what I do - it is a privilege to be of service to couples and families as they are moving through different chapters in their lives. I am honored to be welcomed into these tender, joyful, emotional spaces, and to be a part of it all!
